Using the first weeks’ assignments as a guide, prepare your own 4-5 page example of "green writing."  Your paper may take the form of:
 

-a first-person narrative (e.g. Oates 236-7, McKibben 86-91. Pyle and Matthews in ORION
 
-a reflective essay  (e.g., Oates, Sanders and Ehrenfeld in ORION))

-a polemical essay  (e.g., Brower in ORION, Devall and Sessions, Foreman, LaDuke, Bullard)
 
-a short story

-an account of a landscape region, place, or scene (e.g., "The Place Where You Live" column in ORION)

If you have another idea that doesn’t fit these suggestions, please discuss it with me first.

NOTE:  This assignment was originally due in class on Friday, September 28.  I am changing that to Monday, October 1, by 5:00 p.m. in a box outside my office door AND ON WEBBOARD as a "new topic" under "Original Green Writing."
